Kalean Ung is an award-winning actress, singer, and interdisciplinary artist based in Los Angeles. She has worked with critically-acclaimed theatre and opera companies such as Critical Mass Performance Group, Independent Shakespeare Company, Four Larks Theatre, CalArts Center for New Performance, First Look Sonoma, The Industry, and wildUp, and performed at The Kirk Douglas Theatre, Theatre @ Boston Court, REDCAT, Highways, The Actors’ Gang, The Getty Villa among others. Recent roles include Isabella in Measure for Measure, Titania in A Midsummer Night's Dream, Ariel in The Tempest, Margaret in Richard III, Desdemona in Othello, Marina in Pericles, Viola in Twelfth Night, Alcestis in Alcestis, Esmeralda in Camino Real. Other LA credits: Kurt Weill at the Cuddlefish Hotel, The Temptation of St Anthony (Ovation Award Winner), Prometheus Bound, Jomama Jones: Radiate! Opera: Andrea in Galileo, Catherine in Both Eyes Open, Tesla in Light and Power, Witch in The Mortal Thoughts of Lady Macbeth. Letters from Home is Kalean's first solo play. She received her MFA in Acting from the California Institute of the Arts and her BM in Vocal Performance from the University of California at Santa Cruz. Kalean is on faculty at CalArts.
